Can forcing a shutdown during a scheduled disk check generate a slow computer??

It took far too long and I held the power button in at stage 4 out of 5 of the disk check, (Free Space Verification) I'm hoping I haven't caused any damage  It's taking double the length of time to access folders :( Please help

Might want to check your hard disk and RAM for errors. Doing a forced shutdown probably won't ruin your drive that much, but the fact that Windows was hanging on shutdown could be a sign of a bad disk, or possibly bad RAM.

Every time you do a force shut down it puts a damage spot on your hard drive, (error)
I would do a scandisk and check for errors...
