Animation still has a long way to come. Especially in terms of animations flowing together and looking fluid and lifelike. You can make a very good running animation, a very good jumping animation, and a very good grabbing animation. But stitching those three together when you're running down a path and in mid animation you decide to jump. The engine has to either finish the animation it's on, cut it short, or blend it in to the jump animation. After that you might need a grabbing animation for an overhanging branch. Gamers are unpredictable and making animations that flow well together and look lifelike while still seamlessly responding to user input is very complicated and definitely not done.
Resolution increase is going to become a big part of the push in graphics anymore. AA is going to become a thing of the past as resolutions get bigger and bigger.
