Just got my new system..

NZXT LEXA BLACK LINE
PHENOM 2X4 955 BE
GIGABYTE GA-790XTA-UD4
CASEGEARS 650W ECO ELEMENT 80
2X2GB Supertalent chrome DDR3 1800 MEM
Visontek hd 5750 1gb video card
22X SONY Burner
12-n-1 card reader
stock sound, cooler

Question is can I, newbie, to computers add second identical video card, and will it be worth upgrade? Read that 1 card is at 16x, running 2 cards are at 8x. Is it an easy job for the newbie? Have manual for mobo.
I think I have slot for second card!
Thanks everyone for any help....

yes you sure can. you have two pci-e 16 slots so you can crossfire them. they will only run at 8 however, but the performance loss is extremely negligible. you should have an okay system afterwards (graphics wise). i am assuming you'll be adding the same card?

oops, just read the entire question. how much money are you willing to spend? you can add the second card but if you can spend enough to get a better card i would highly recommend it.

2 vid cards

I will buy identical card that is in it. Just want to know difficulty level for a newbie! Never touched the inside of one before. But sure I could handle it. If 1 runs at 16x, 2 at 8x I dont understand the improvement? sorry this stuff new to me. Bought this rig, did not obviously build it,I wish ! Maybe someday build my own.

actually delving into your own computer is a good way of learning! it is really easy. you can always read about it online for free. anyway, there will be a performance increase because of the crossfire, but they will both be running at a "8x" speed instead of "16x" speed. for reasons, that card won't actually lose performance when running at 8x instead of 16x, so there won't be any hit in possible performance. hd 5750's in crossfire (depending on game) will be either below or close to the hd 5870.
