Hi,
Im wondering if i can control what processes each cpu can run, like i can start a program on one cpu and start another on the other cpu, or does windows take all that away from me :). I want to be able to do something like assign my cd burning program to one cpu and do stuff with the other cpu so the burning program doesnt get disturbed.

Thanks,
Corey

That would be a good thing... Isn't cpu your RAM? if it is, windows just combines them and stuff, unless you have a dual cpu.

ps. i have no clue what i'm talking about right now! HAHA. sorry.

CPU is your processor, it stands for Central Processing Unit, as for the question of assigning programs to separate CPU's I'm not sure, but I don’t think its possible to do in a windows environment, if you do figure it out though please let me know, because that could be really helpful

Changing CPU for different processes

In Windows xp it is possible to change which cpu is used. That is if you have dual CPU's...

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, and then click Task Manager.
Click the Processes tab.
Right-click process, and then click Set Affinity.
Click to clear either CPU0 or CPU1.
Click OK, and then close Task Manager.

This should help you out.
