I was wondering... Could I use a modem to connect my xbox360 to the internet?

My plan:

-Plug my modem into a phone socket.

-Plug an Ethernet cable into the Modem, then plug the other end into my Xbox 360.

-Play :D

Thing is, I have a modem connected to my PC already. From what I've heard, if you use two modems, you could only use one or the other at a time. Is this true? I have no problem with it, its not like ill be playing my PC and Xbox360 at the same time.

That would work if you ordered another dsl/cable service. Why don't you just hook it up to a router?

Well I have 2 rooms in my apartment. The two rooms or sections are about 35-40ft apart from each other. One having the computer (office), and the other one in my living room. Thing is, I don't know if the router could reach my living room.

Oh and P.S. I have comcast, would I have to call them if I did that modem thing?

Get a wireless router that has a 4-port switch, example Linksys WRT54G. And just run a cat5 cable from router to Xbox. Cat 5 cable from modem would go to the router and then your computer and xbox would hook up to the 2 of the 4 ports in the back of the router.
