can i export and import mails from yahoo to gmail

can I export all the mails in Yahoo as a computer file and then import the email to gmail later on?

I know that under the setting of gmail it can automatically move mails from yahoo to gmail but I've found that it doesn't actually move all mails, I strongly believe that it has missed some mails so I can trust it because some mails are important, useful or memorable.

Any ideas for that?

I think if you pay for yahoo premium or whatever they are calling it these days you could download all your E-mails to an E-mail client like Thundrerbird and go from there. Normal yahoo and your SOL I'm afraid.
