Alright, I need my new pc now, I was going to get a amd 64 x2, but I seen a pentium d 3.0 for abut 120 dollars cheaper, Now this pc is for gaming, so you guys think the pentium d will play all the new games like cod2, wow, oblivion, guild wars, etc etc etc .??????

you should wait like a week for conroe (or whenever conroe comes out). there will be huge price cuts on amd processors. and you should either go with conroe (duh ) or amd for gaming, but probably not pentium d as they are more work oriented.

haha i was waitng for someone to bring up conroe i knew it owuld happen, thee are epntium cards that could handle it but i would always suggest my favourite AMD

A Pentium D will do just fine for gaming. My 2.66Ghz one does great. And a 930 is 3.0Ghz and has 4MB of cache.

Well, if you are looking to spend around the pd805 range then get it. But if it were between the pd930 and x23800 go for the amd. Give us more details on budget wise.

I am willing to spend up to 900 on a pc. I am buying from ibuypower.com, I mean I was going to get a amd 64x2, but if i can get a pd for less or a pd better than that amd, then thats would be great.
