My computer has four RAM slots I currently have 512 SDRAM (256x2).
I wont more RAM I know I can put another 512 (256x2) but can I put one 256 card in. or can I put one 512 card in. what I relay want to do is to ad two 512 card and make a total 1536 MB SDRAM.

Yes you can but you will lose dual channel support (assuming your board has it in the first place)

What’s dual Channel support. and there are two white blocks each one has two slots for a RAM card and currently one 256 card is in the first slot of the first block and the other 256 card is in the first slot of the second block.

dual channel can double the bandwidth of your RAM, you can think of it like a RAID 0 array but for RAM. From the way your current RAM is installed it sounds like it is in a dual channel configuration.
Rules to Enable Dual Channel Mode
To achieve Dual Channel mode, the following conditions must be met:

Matched DIMM configuration in each channel
Same Density (128MB, 256MB, 512MB, etc.)
Same DRAM technology (128Mb, 256Mb, or 512Mb)
Same DRAM bus width (x8 or x16)
All either single-sided or dual-sided
Matched in both Channel A and Channel B memory channels
Populate symmetrical memory slots (Slot 0 or Slot 1)

Note: Configurations that do not match the above conditions will revert to Single Channel mode.

The following conditions do not need to be met:

Same brand
Same timing specifications
Same DDR speed
If you put the 256MB sticks in channel A and the 512MB stick in channel B that should enable dual channel mode
