Can I mod a case for 1394 firewire port?

I'm a newbie in this area, getting ready to build my first computer by myself and the question I have is this: I want firewire capability (my mobo will have this). I also want to get a case that has the front side ports (USB, audio AND firewire). I have looked at the cases that actually have the firewire port in the front. But I have also seen cheaper cases that have the "fake" firewire port (i.e. the case has a firewire port indenture, but not an actual female connector attached to it.)

Can I buy the cheaper case and punch this section out and attach the female connector?

If so, how hard is this mod? What type of cable would I need to accomplish this goal.

Example:MSI P6N SLI-FI NVIDIA Socket 775 ATX Motherboard in this case (JPAC 512 BATTLE BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply).

If you look closely at the front usb and audio ports picture, you will see at the top the IEEE 1394 indenture.

Let me know what you think.
