I just got a new 160GB external HD and I was wondering if I could partition it so half of it is just for back-up of my PC and the other half can house all my media (music, videos, pics, etc...) Would this just be a waste of time??
I can be done in several ways, there a lots of free partition tools available online. But i can be done within XP itself. Google resulted in this tutorial http://www.d-silence.com/feature.php?id=246
I went ahead and did it last night through Disk Management. It took me a little while to figure it out, but I got it. I divided my 160GB in to two, so I now have a F: for media files and a G: for backup of my C:. I think this will work pretty well for me. Thanks for the help.
