Can I play Left for Dead 2 on my MacBook?

Hi all,

Left for Dead 2 just came out on steam and I'm wondering whether my MacBook would run it fine. I have the latest model of MacBook so it has 4GB of RAM. I have read that others have run it fine when they run it via BootCamp but this is an actual Mac generic version so hopefully it will run better on Mac OS X :)

Thanks for your help.

I have a 2010 generation MacBook with a 2.26GHz C2D, 2GB DDR3, and a 256MB 9400M. When I played Portal and TF2 several months back I was playing at around 20-30FPS on default settings. It was playable, but not really that enjoyable. L4D2 is more demanding, although Steam and Apple have released updates that are suppose to improve performance, so it may be a wash. Do you have any other Steam games that you could try to get an idea before you buy?

Do they have a demo available for Mac?

L4D2 is like 6 dollars on steam at the moment. Also, when you buy a valve game on steam you get it for both platforms, PC and Mac. So if you have access to a PC you can play it on that as well.

It is a great game. I have had both games since release. Killing mass amounts of zombies never gets old. I have beat every campaign on the hardest level of game play too. I always play as Luis since I work IT, and he is the IT worker that survives, or Coach because I love cheezburga apocalypse!

The multiplayer is fun too, but somewhat broken in certain areas. Like the swamp level is horrid for multiplayer because it is hard for the infected to spawn at times.

The game is well worth over 7 bucks, but now that it is 7 bucks it is a freaking steal.
