Can I put a AGP 8X/4X video card in a AGP 4x/2x slot?

I want to put a Radeon 9550 into an Abit TH7II motherboard.

As long as the card had dual cut outs to be backward compatabile with either slot.

This card will not work with a 2/4 slot.
