Can I replace my DDR vid card with a DDR2?

What my title says...my radeon recently crapped out and runny a video bad wal mart card..i need to improve just wondering this before I look to buy something..
 
Officially it's called GDDR2. I say this because there will undoubtedly be members who'll say it later on. :P

Memory does not make a video card. That said are you willing to buy online at a place like Newegg.com? It can save money, Plus we can help you pick a card (We can do it anyways but I'm being stubborn) Do you have a budget in mind? Do you also know of the GPU expansion slot of your Motherboard, and specs of your PSU including amperage of the +12v? :D
 
I am actually throwing around the idea of saving the ~$200 (also wanted to buy new ram) and putting it toward new parts to build my own comp. But ill let you know what I decide so I can seek the needed help. :)
