Can i run a 8600gt?

I have a stock hp a6230n and want to add a evga 8600gt ( http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=206891) The stock psu is 300w, it is a Bestec ATX-300-12Z (http://itwinkle.stores.yahoo.net/beathp3024ps.html)

I havent added anything to the computer so it is running all stock hardware... but will i have to upgrade my psu to run the 8600gt?

wow.... i need a 550w psu to run a 8600gt... i thought it was a older mid range card... i dont plan on adding anything else really... just the card... so if im maxing my psu out... i dont really care lol

You don't. That 300w should be fine for the 8600gt. It has a correct Max +12v rating of 19amperes. The 8600gt has a recommended power requirement of 300w, +12v@20a.
