Can i run vista

HI everyone i was thinking about upgrading to vista in my laptop i was just wanding if the laptop would run it here is what i got to work with
windows xp
home edition
service pack 3

dell inspiron1010
intel(R) @1.66Hz
1.60 GHz 1gb of ram

No worries im sure a mod will move it.

I wouldnt reccomend running vista with that set up.

You really need above 2gb ram in your laptop to run it properly.

If you feel like trying out a new OS, then try ubuntu, you can run it as a dual boot.

I was able to run vista just fine on 1 GB of ram

I'd say you have the minimum requirements to run Vista 32-bit.

You could, but by no means would i recommend it. Even with 2gb of ram, your cpu will lag behind, and even the basic non-Aero scheme is more graphically demanding than i'd expect your old laptop to hold up to.
