Can I use my Works Suite 2002 disks on a new computer?

Hello:
A few years ago I purchased a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop. Along with the computer, I purchased Works Suite 2002. The computer came with all 4 disks that are required to load Works Suite 2002. I am now in the market for a new Dell E510 desktop computer. The only program that I use on my Works Suite 2002 is MS Word. The E510 that I am looking at does not include any preloaded software, and Works Suite 2006 (which includes Word 2002) will be an additional cost from Dell. Can I just use the disks to load Works Suite 2002 onto the new Dell E510 desktop that I am purchasing or do I have to re purchase the software? My Dell Inspiron has XP Pro and the desktop that I plan to purchase has XP Home. Also, I do not know if this matters, but I have had to reload my current addition of MS Word onto my laptop 3 or four times due to system issues. Thanks.

As far as I know the MS Works Suite 2002 should still work, even on a new computer. You might want to check the user agreement because some software only permits you to install it on one computer. Also what software were you using from Works Suite, because most of it is probably very outdated (i.e. Streets and Trips 2002, Money 2002, and Encarta 2002). I would check out the Freeware sticky to see if there are any programs that provide the same functionality (I know OpenOffice is a good Office XP replacement).
