I have an old Dell computer (Windows XP) that has some applications that I would like to use on a new computer that I'm building. Is it possible to use the old drive on the new computer so that I can use the applications? I no longer have the installation disk for the apps. There is no IDE on the new computer.

Yes they will work.
Use the XP disk,boot from it and perform the REPAIR process.
Once that has been done,install all the required drivers for your new hardware.
NOTE: Some programs such as Daemon tools might need to be reinstalled after all this,but 99% of the programs WILL work.
