Hi Guys,
I just acquired a new used Win 7 computer and am transferring files over to the new computer. However, All my pictures, videos, memory hog files are on a 40gig HD with the old style IDE connector that I would like to install in the new machine. I am not sure if any of these connections can be used on my old 40gig HD. Can you tell by looking? It appears to me that the existing HD in the new machine is a SATA and there is a branch off with the same type of connector on the end of that cable. There are also two unused connectors that look like the old style. Can one of these be used on my old 40gig?
Also, The existing HD measures about 4" wide and 5.5" long. And everything I see advertised is 3.5" and thin for notebooks and laptops. If I have to buy another HD to move everything from my old 40gig to, I think I might have some problems finding the right size.
Anybody have any advice?
