Your pc can run fear fine.

Oblivion might give alittle trouble.. but not to much. Your gs is pretty close spec-wise to a gt. You shouldn't have too much trouble with any of the newer games.

It can easily run FEAR. Not maxed out on a high res, but it should play it at or near high settings.

Another gig would help, but my guess is that the video card isnt capable of playing it maxed.

When I had my E6300 @ 3.13Ghz, 2GB DDR2-900, and an 8800GTS 640MB, I played it maxed out @ 1280x1024 and I only got around 35-50fps in high-action areas.

the card is capable of max if you keep the res low(10x7 or so) with aa and af off. that's according to review sites as well.. omega's fps seem to prove me wrong though..
