Can my laptop be repaired?

My son has an Acer gaming laptop which has recently stopped working when my young daughter spilt a drink over the keyboard section.
I have been told (by people who have not looked at it) that there is no point trying to repair a laptop if it has suffered water damage. Would everybody here generally agree with that?
If it is the case, is there any way that it might fetch a little cash if sold for spares?
Thanks

With water damage you have to end up replacing all the insides. This is one of the major downfalls of a laptop and at that point, it's just cheaper to get a new one most likely. You won't get much selling it either with water damage.

With a liquid spill it's generally new computer time.

You might be able to salvage DRAM or storage if they weren't roasted, but otherwise aside from maybe the display if it still functions it probably doesn't have much value to anyone.
