Can my motherboard support a dual-core processor?

If so, which ones do you recommend? I want to use it for gaming.
Also, since it uses AMD, can I change it to Intel?

No you can't buy an Intel processor without buying a new motherboard. You can however use any of these CPUs:

AMD Phenom II Quad-Core
AMD Phenom II Triple-Core
AMD Phenom Quad-Core (A) 9xxx series (AM2+)
AMD Phenom Triple-Core (T) 8xxx series (AM2+)
AMD Athlon X4
AMD Athlon X3
AMD Athlon X2 (B) (AM2+)

But you must get an AM2+ CPU apparently otherwise it won't work. I'd recommend the quad-core Phenom II above anything else in that list. If you want a dual-core then the Athlon X2 is a dual-core.

Looking at that HP Link, I wouldn't touch that for gaming... The lack of RAM you can use on it is a bit worrying. I have one that takes that capacity, it can only take 4gb. Use it for basic virtual machines and internet browsing ;)
