Can my old PC use an SSD?

I have an old XPS 410 (service tag GXG4FC1). I am planning on building a new PC within the next few months and was thinking about buying the SSD now and using it in my current old PC until I buy the rest of the parts. However, I am afraid that my computer is too old to even be able to use one.

Also of note, it freezes on the BIOS screen for about 30 seconds before loading windows. I've poked around in the BIOS but didn't see anything that could cause that. Any ideas?

Here's the BIOS screen: http://i.imgur.com/D0U6bPx.jpg

It looks like your PC can use the SSD since it has the SATA interface but I'm confused about the way your drives are set up.

Your BIOS says that your drives are controlled by RAID BIOS but the drives are non raid disks. That could explain the pause before going into Windows. It's looking for the RAID disks since it's set up for them but not configured as such. Look in your manual and set up the drives as normal.

I'm not familiar with RAID setups so I could be wrong but I get that impression from looking at the screen shot.
