Can Play Audio File (DRM error)

I have a CD that I bought and copied the files to the computer, but when I go to play them I get a DRM error like it's protected. How can I remove this?

Just copied them.

That's probably why. You need to rip them with software.

Use Windows media player to rip them to your music library as mp3's.

I no longer have the original CD I copied these music files from. How could I play these music files without these errors popping up? These are all WMA files.

In my experience, If I tried copying music from cd to hdd then all it woild do is create a shortcut, it wouldn't actually copy the file. Have these files ever played correctly? What is the file size?

The media software can't play DRM if they are not in correct location. EX: Outside of CD.

If you still have CD, you can try one of free CD ripper. I'm able to get FLAC and it sound better.

As legal experienced, if you no longer have original CD, you might have to remove music file from PC as well.
