Can someone explain why the E6750, E6850 is cheaper than the E6700?

Also why the E6420 & 6550 is cheaper than the E6400?

I am comparing these 2

$205 Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe E6400 2.13GHz FSB 1066, 2MB CPU
$176 Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe E6550 2.33GHz FSB 1333, 4MB CPU

As you can see, the E6550 is clearly better with the higher 2.33 clock speed, the higher FSB, and the 4MB Cache...

Am i missing something here?

I believe it's because Intel isn't producing the E6400 and E6700 anymore, so all of the stores that had them in stock when the E6420, E6550, E6750, etc arrived to the retailers at a lower price, they kept them at about the same price since they most likely don't want to lose money.

Omega states a good lesson which you've already used without knowing it: Don't just look at price when looking for the best. Look at specs.

You can get E6750 for $189, cheaper and much better than E6400
