Boss got a newer computer and I need to make the old hard drive a mass storage on the newer one, problem is the new one is sata and the old one is the long belt type ( I forgot what its called) can someone just give me the basic instructions to do the mass storage and be able to get to the files when on the newer computer? He still wants to be able to access all his data files when on the new computer, software isn't what he is concerned about, its just his data files. Which is mostly documents. I don't want to transfer the data it will take too long and I don't have the data cable to do that and I don't have or want to use an external one. Please give me instructions on how to hook this up.
thanks so much for your time!:)

Maybe I didn't ask my question the right way, I asked for instructions on how to put the hard drive into the new computer and be able to use it as a mass storage, not to transfer the data. the computer is an OptiPlex 745 if that helps

The optiplex specs, providing you have the minitower version, says you have room for 2 hard drives but there are no IDE ports to plug the ide drive into. So you will either need to buy a addon card like daisymtc suggested or buy a sata hard drive and use it. You can buy sata to ide adapters but they usually don't work very well.
