Can someone help me get my original OS back?

Ok, so I have an HP pavillion dv2000 that came with vista. I installed windows XP on it but I would like to return to the original Operating system (Vista basic). I borrowed one of my friends Vista disks from his Dell, but the display is distorted (stretched), no matter how I adjust it.

Does anyone know How I can get an original recover disk for my model laptop? The HP website seems completely useless as I have not been able to find any information.

Display is distorted because you would need to update your graphics card drivers. That should fix the problems.
