can someone help?

I had this post under laptops and smart phones but got no answers, so I hope someone can give me some insight into the problem I encountered when I connected by laptop and TV by HDMI cable.

I have an ACER 1410 notebook (netlap) and my connection to the internet worked fine until I plugged an HDMI cable from my computer HDMI port to the television HDMI port. The connection worked fine and I was able to see my notebook monitor on the TV.

The next day I turned on my netbook, and the computer would not connect to the internet. I then went into the control panel and checked the internet icon and it showded that i was connected. My desktop computer worked fine.

The problem apparently has something to do with connecting the HDMI cable to my notebook. I corrected the problem by "Restoring Computer to a Previous time."

BUT I should not have to do a restore to a previous time. Does anyone have any idea what created the problem, or what I can do to correct it the next time,(other than a restore)
 
Mr. flaring Afro, Thanks for the reply. Why would a Windows Update cause my internet connection on my laptop not to work?

Well I did not try to get onto the internet after plugging in the HDMI cable. It was very late and i went to sleep after using the HDMI cable. So I do not really know if there was a problem until the next day when I could not get on the internet even though the window said I was connected.
 
Could be that the updated driver has bugs, it happens sometimes. Could also be that it just didn't install right which also can happen.
