Can someone tell me a bit about the TOR-Browser?

Can someone tell me abit about the TOR-Browser? I know it shows a fake IP-address when surfing, all one has to do is press new-identity, and one gets a new IP adress. How many fake IP-addresses does the TOR browser have available? Does all TOR-Browsers share these IP-Addresses ? Thanks
