Can this be right?

speedfan reports my CPU temp as 22C. I have a stock intel cooler and even when under full load my cpu never goes above 30C.
All temps are automanaged by the system, not by speedfan.
I though those intel coolers were horrible at cooling?

My P4 2.66Ghz idled at 30-35'C with the stock cooler, although airflow in the case is pretty crap. Those recordings were using the sensors in Ubuntu.

My desktop has nearly the same spec's as yours (40Gb HDD, 512Mb RAM). Only I have a whooping great 64mb video card. Runs Ubuntu perfectly though! good times, Doug.

No, thats not right. 22c is like 71f. It would be warmer then room temp. 71 is pretty low room temp too. Use coretemp and post your numbers.
