Can this run?

I got an MCP6P-M2 motherboard and I am thinking of buying a new procesor,the AMD Athlon II X3 450,3200 Mhz,AM3 Socket..
If anyone could tell me can i put that procesor on that motherboard?

Actually am3 processors can work on am2/am2+ motherboards, but can be dependant on bios update, being that board is cheap biostar it may not have appropriate bios update.

I don't know what the bios update for. But Athlon II x 450 is not on the CPU support list.

It`s just like memory they don`t test and publish all of them, states quite clearly in the wik article am3 cpu is backwards compatible with am2/am2+ motherboards.
