i was wondering if it would hurt anything if i closed my laptop screen? would it? thanks.

edit: when the laptops turned on.
 
no... it'll just go into hibernate mode... if anything the keyboard may scuff/scratch the screen... but chances are that it won't...
 
no, laptops are designed to be closed when on, they have a switch that works with the lid.

by default they hibernate when you close the lid, but you can change this in the control panel.
 
In control panel, go to power settings. Change the setting where it says what to do when lid is closed- the drop down menu will have an option for the computer to "do nothing". Select that and it wont go into hibernation. The screen will turn dark when closed but your system will still be up. Many use this when they're still downloading a lot of stuff or need to stay on for some reason.
