I'm not sure why but when i bought a new system when i tried to plug my 80gb IDE Samsung in it wont start. I narrowed it down to that because when the ide plug is in only, my rig starts, when i plug the 4 pin plug in, it wont start. Does anyone know how or who i can send this into to get my stuff back, if its even possible? Thanx. I actually tried to plus in the 4 pin with the system on too and it goes right off, everything.

Data recovery services are the ones best equipped for retrieving data and files from failed drives with bad controllers cards if the platters are stiil intact. A recovery software won't here. You would have to run a search for this type of service in your own region. And spend the money for a good WD drive after to prevent a repeat of this! It's worth it.

Im using a 600W Fortron Epsilon with 4 15v 12A rails. It just boggles me how if that 4 pin is plugged into that HD, my whole system will not start, not sure how thats even possible. It worked the day i took it out of my A8N-SLI, and 460W Seasonic, but now the whole system shorts when i plug the 4 pin in. So weird to me, i even tried it on my buddys system and it did same thing. Im assuming ill have to send it to a recovery place, thanks though. P.S. I already planned on getting a WD Raptor for some real speed lol.

A dead "Short" would effectively pull a system down. If something on the drive's controller card suddenly shorted to ground that would explain way you see the system stall when plugging it in. That's most likely what happened.
