"Cannot display this video mode" message!

Sometimes the following message appears on my monitor:

"Cannot display this video mode, change computer display input to 1280x1024@60Hz".
When it happens, I have to restart computer.

My PC is yet configured with the resolution e frequency suggested in the message but the problem continually happens.
Can someone help me?

Follows a description of my computer:
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ dual core
NVidia GeForce 6200SE 256MB
Monitor Philips 190V6 (19 inch)
Window XP Home Edition (with service pack 2)

is your video card plug and play compatible? hopefully it is not assigned a windows driver. and have you checked nvidia's site for any firmware upgrades? if any.
 
I believe it is plug and play compatible but i don't know how to verify (?)
About the windows driver i've downloaded and installed the latest one in the nvidia's web site.
But the problem remains.
I'm looking for firmware upgrade but I think it dosen't exist.
