Cannot figure this one out!!!

My Windows 7 that used to go into sleep mode will NOT anymore. It will act like it's going to and then wakes after only a few seconds. This has been going on for some time now so I've just left it on for months.

I've done all the things in the CP that I can find online to do. I've also checked all the things in the power plan properties dialog box.

Any ideas?

Have you tried running the system file checker (sfc /scannow command)?

Most likely driver related. Updated all drivers?

Thanks for quick reply. When I type the command in the run box, nothing happens.

Is there a simple way to check if all my drivers are updated?

Right click on command prompt and click on run as admin. Then type sfc /scannow and hit enter. The process should start.

As far as updating your drivers, visit the motherboard makers website or the maker of the hardware for updated drivers. What system do you have?

Ok, the scan showed no violations.

I have an intel i5-2500k overclocked to 4.3 ghz mounted to an Asus P8Z68 Mb. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.

I'll look into all of my drivers, thanks for the help!

There has to be letters after the P8Z68 because there is no board by that. There should be something like these.

P8Z68-M PRO
P8Z68-V/GEN3
P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3

Or something similar.
