Cannot Get Online, Device Manager - Yellow Questions

Hi,

Just bought a new HP the other day, the model is: HP Compaq DX2300 Microtower.

I hate Vista, so I removed it and installed Windows XP Professional, I have got everything installed that I know of including the Modem Drivers etc, but I still cannot get online through my LAN, Ethernet Cable. My device manager says the Ethernet Controller and PCI Device both have yellow question marks next to them. How do I fix this?

You need XP drivers for your ethernet controller. Contact HP and see if they have XP drivers for that device. If they can't provide one, disable the current controller in the device manager and buy a PCI ethernet card. They're not expensive.
