Canon Rebel XT DSLR question?

Does anyone know how to use the LCD screen instead of the viewfinder to take a picture? I cant seem to find it in the manual, but I would like to know how to turn this feature on. Every other camera I have ever used had a button to press to turn it on, but I dont seem to find one on the rebel.

You can't due to how the camera was constructed.
I'm thinking all other cameras you've used have been basic or advanced point and shoots?

Only some of the newer DSLR's have that feature, it's called live view.
For the most part I think it's frankly useless, besides from a few benefits.

I finally did figure this one out. I dont personally use the feature even on point and shoots but my Fiansee was bummed she couldnt use it.

You can't, I own an XTI which is the same just a few more features but it's the same construction, If you take the lens out you can see the mirror is there that's why you can't record and can't use the lcd screen.

These are experienced user cameras pretty much and if you noticed photographers never use the LCD screen, they use the view finder to shoot.

When you look in the view finder you can see info in there and the focus points all line up and all.

That feature is called live-view, not available on the XTi. The XSi is supposed to have LiveView.

Perhaps but a bunch of current/future cameras have them: A200, XSi, D300 etc
