whats difference between the Canon SD400 and the SD450?
For that price, should I just get a SD630?

I want a camera with anywhere from 6-8 MP's, which do u recommend? SONY DSCW50? DSCW70?

Um...you want a camera between 6-8 megapixles but the first two you ask about are only 5...

Anyway, look them up on steves-digicams.com and dpreview.com.

I dont know what the prices for te above are but you should get Canon Digital Ixus 750, I have it and its amazing!

Canon PowerShot SD550 Digital ELPH = Digital IXUS 750 :P In other words basically the same camera they were looking for, just between the models they were asking about

The major difference between the SD400 and 450 is a 2.0" screen for the SD400 and 2.5" for the SD450. May I ask why you are looking for a megapixel rating that high?

Look more into lens quality than megapixles. A good 5.0MP camera can take as good or better shots than a mid-range 6+MP camera...

The one that i have is really good quality. 1 Picture = 3200x2600 (Around that) ad is about 3.5-5MB Big.

I agree with The_Other_One on looking for a better lens than higher MP. An 8MP is absolutely overkill unless you are going to start your own photolab... There are some small Sony's that use Carl Zeiss lenses (very good) like the DSCW200 (I think that's the newest one), it's 7.1MP, and still a pretty reasonable price. If you're looking at Kodak's, they have some new small dual lens cameras that still use Schneider-Kruesnach lenses (even better) and are a little higher price, but give you more optical zoom, and a larger screen in a very small package. Models are V570 and V610.

Here is a side-by-side on the three cameras you talked about (canon's). My personal preferance is Canon. I think there cameras are much better then Nikon, sony etc..etc.. But thats my opinion.

I use a new Canon EOS 20D digital SLR and I just picked up the Canon Powershot SD630. The SD630 is a nice camera, You can't go wrong. For me I like it becuase its more compact then my SLR. It still takes a nice quality picture and it cost alittle under $400 dollars.

Good luck
