Can't access Google

For the past 12 hours or so neither of the two computers on my home network have been able to access Google.

I have cleared my DNS cache, all browser, reinstalled browser, tried alternate browser, disconnected my router and DSL modem - both from power and network, and updated firmware for router. None of these has restored access. When I attempt to go to Google on Firefox I get a 'data transfer interrupted' error, on Internet Explorer, the page claims to be done loading but the screen is blank.

Once after rebooting router, I was able to briefly get access to Google and its subdomains but this lasted only for a few minutes and subsequent reboots were not helpful.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.
 
sounds like a dns error. try this start>run>cmd
then type ping google.com and see if it gives you an IP address, If it doesent. it is a dns error. You can easly use a public dns (which is usualy better)

to do that go to start>control pannel>network connections> right clikc on your main connection and got to properties. Then select the tcp/ip in the box and hit properties. select the provide your own dns and use the following

4.2.2.2
4.2.2.1

see if that works

I put in those DNS servers as well, however they did not help.

Any other ideas?
 
ok. thats really odd. and is this the only website you have had problems with? and can you use any of googles sub-applications like gmail.com ?
 
Cannot use any Google subdomains either. Earlier was having problems with a series of domains but since the reset of router can access all but Google, Gmail, Google News, etc.
 
that is weird. the only think i can think of is just to wait a day and see if it comes back...
 
But we all need to use google other wise the Evil guiness at google may resort to dire tatics lmao :D :D :D
 
It could be due to DNS or router error. First check the DNS server IP. If it's ok, check the router IP address. If the problem still persists, get the IP from ISP provider to configure your DNS IP again.
