I am trying to figure out why I can't access the internet. My provider is able to see my computer but yet I am not able to connect. I am behind a router and firewall. If you need more info please just ask.

Thanks,
hammer

Unplug the power cable to your modem and your router for about 10 minutes. Plug in the power cables back in. If you still dont get internet, configure your router with the cds that you got from you ISP.

Often one or more systems on a dsl router here gets knocked out while all ISP drivers are still intact. The router is simply turned off briefly without a need for pulling the plug and powered up in a minute or so. What that is termed is recycling the power on the router to redetect all connected systems. If you still don't connect go into the device manager to see if you have any yellow exclamation marks next to network adapters or "other devices" where you can right click on that and choose the update driver option to have Windows reinstall the needed drivers to make them active again.

Make sure your firewall is not blocking you from accessing settings in your router that you might need in order to connect. I had a similar problem when I first got my router and after 2 or 3 frustrating days, of no access to my router or to the internet, I finally realized the firewall was causing problems. So, I had to change the settings in it so the router could be allowed to do its thing.

Just a thought and something to check.

That's not something to overlook there too. Generally the host pc would have that block inplace if there is one though. That would be where any others would be disabled from connecting if the account for each sub isn't configured correctly. You may even have to redo the addon fresh to get permissions just like you would a user account added on a stand alone in that sense.
