cant access regedit

hi when i try to go to the registry i am now just getting a black command prompt box, , which i cant do anything with , then it goes not respondiong when i try to minimise the box,, have read somewhere that this may be a virus that has made it do this, ?
any idea's ?

have you scanned your computer for malware?? my guess is it is something like that try running ccleaner and like adaware and spybot and any antivirus and even a registry cleaner and then try that again

tried everything all the time nothing is found, doesnt seem to matter what i type in the run box even tried cmd still get the black C: prompt box
