Can't connect to Internet on laptop

My laptop was finding my router and connecting to the Internet and was downloading files via torrents but I couldn't browse any websites so I disconnected and when I went to reconnect it's not picking up any wireless connections at all. When I done a diagnostics it came up with a network cable is unplugged, the virtual box host only network adaptor is disabled and the wireless network connection adaptor is disabled. When I try to fix the problems it fails and my wireless is turned on on the laptop. Anyone have any ideas ?

Number one big no no..... You'll get your machine infected really quick doing that.

Look in device manager to make sure the wireless adapter is enabled under network adapters.

First, try unplugging your router for 30 seconds then plugging it back in if you haven't done that.

Second, plug your laptop directly in the router. Do you get a connection then?

I was downloading a linux distro from a reputable source i am pretty sure that has **** all to do with it so shh. I only wrote that because that is my proof that i was connected to the internet. I get connection when i go on guest account and i get connection when i am plugged into my router also resetting it didn't work.

Sounds like your user account is screwed :\ I would make a new user account and move documents, music, etc. over it as long as the internet works on the user account.

Yea that is what i have done, was hoping i wouldn't have to though, gotta mess about with everything and get it how i like it but arr well. Thanks for the replies.
