idk where i should ask this question but i think it has to do with my windows xp
because for some reason i cant get internet to work
when i plugged my cable in the green light in the back lit up and my modem also lits up showing that its connected but when i go to network connections on my control pannel it shows nothing
any ideas on what is wronge or how i can fix it?

Are you connected directly to your modem, or do you use a router? What brand/model modem are you using?

To check your connection settings, go to Start > Run > type CMD > type ipconfig /all. What's your IP Address, subnet, gateway, DHCP, and DNS set to?

I had a weird problem yesturday and i left it for a day and it worked when i got home!

Other things you could try are:
1. Restart the modem.
2. Check for new drivers for the network card.
3. Turn of modem ,unplug all cables going into the modem and restart.
4. Take out the lead going in to your network card, restart the computer. When booted plug back in.
5. Contact your:
i)ISP
ii)Modem Provider
iii)Network Card Provider
iiii)Microsoft.
