Can't Connect to Limewire

hey i have just came to uni and i cant get connected to limewire using the hall of residence network. is there any way i can get connected or do u know other similar software tht will allow me to do so?

possibly blocked by the university servers, not really a way round it i doubt. Its for the good of the system really, last thing they want is to risk possible infections and such
 
Agreed... It's not that uncommon for places like universities to block most ports to keep their network secure. I know the common chat ports are blocked here.
 
im in 2 minds as to whether this constitutes trying to circumvent you uni policies. I am sure that you have a terms of use policy at you school network
