Can't connect to my Amazon Echo through Bluetooth

Hi all. I'm pretty sure that when I first connected my Galaxy S4 to my Echo, all I did was turn on Bluetooth on the phone and it automatically found the Echo.

However, when I try the same thing on both my Nexus 7 and my Amazon Fire, both say that they can't find any Bluetooth devices, even though the Echo is sitting right there.

Is there an extra step that I'm forgetting to do?

Since it's already paired with another device you'll probably have to put it into pairing mode.
