Can't connect to network

I have a strange problem at my apartment. Our G linksys router will, occasionally, not allow people to join the network. As far as I know it has never kicked anyone off. In other words, someone who is already on the network can continue to use the internet, while someone else can't join.

I can always see the network, and resetting the router always fixes it immediately.

This has happened to all of our devices at one time or another including: a sony vaio laptop, a thinkpad, a macbook, and and two different ipod touches.

Any ideas?
 
How old is the router? Have you tried doing a hard reset back to defaults or upgrading the firmware?
