I have a wireless network setup with a dlink dir-825. When i try to connect with my laptop it detects the security enabled network i type in the password and it tries connecting for about 2 minutes and than it takes me back to available networks where i can try connecting again.
Any idea what would cause this?
thanks in advance

Remove the security from the router to see if the laptop can connect to it with no problem, may have a compatibility issue. Also try updating the wireless driver.

Is it possible that you're typing the wrong key/password? Or that the wireless program is using the wrong sort of authentication? Check your router's wireless security settings just to verify what sort of security you are using. You may even try to disable the security for a minute and try to connect just to ensure that you are in fact able to connect to the router and that this is just a settings issue.

I have had a similiar problem. i redid everything but ended up taking off the security off and playing aroud with the settings and it worked

Hi jester, try removing the password from the router and see if you can connect, what encryption are you using? ‘WEP’ ‘WPA’ etc...?

Hi,
You must allow the DHCP setting on wireless router if you’ve configured the computer’s wireless adapter to obtain an IP address automatically. If not you will get the "failed to acquire an IP address" error when you try to connect to wireless network! Also don’t forget to configure big enough IP range on router’s DHCP setting, because the router won’t be able to assign IP to 6 computers if you only configured 5 IP space on router.
Thanks
