Can't create partition in Unpartitioned space

Hello... i am trying to set up windows Xp on my PC after changing some partitions .... I've deleted 2 partitions, 20GB each, but now i see to unpartitioned spaces in wixXp setup .... and i can't create new partition of 40GB

what i m seeing is:
Unpartitioned space 20000MB
Unpartitioned space 20000MB

instead of:
Unpartitioned Space 40000MB




plz help me create new partition of 30 or 40GB

Gparted Live Boot CD will get rid of those partitions
Also just allow widows Setup to automatically create the partition and format to NTFS

Do you have more than those 2 partitions on the drive? If so, then most likely both partitions are on opposites sides of the drive and you can't combine the 2 like that without using 3rd party software like partition magic or live cd.
