cant find url to computer (mac)

whatismyip.com will only give an external IP address, if you are on annetwork and need to know the internal IP address of the machine, then click START - RUN - type "cmd" - type "ipconfig /all" - read where it says IP ADDRESS.

or system prefs>sharing under services if personal file sharing is enabled highlight i. near the bottom of the window it shows it in the middle of a paragraph.

though whatismyip.com would work if it was external, even for mac right, so if its external, there's no problem.

yeah but aldog967 asked for the "url", whatever he means, and he hasn't been back into the thread so no one knows exactly what he's talking about. It could be external ip, it could be network ip, it could be something else.

To all people, read the thread (or at least a few posts before it if its too long) & the first question before posting. Pedex, what you said has been repeated already.
EDIT: Sorry that sounded harsh, your new. Welcome to the forum!

no what I posted has not

someone mentioned using the WINDOWS start/run command.........bzzzt wrong answer

someone mentioned the GUI net setup routine for macs

and I posted the likely posix compliant command line answer

no duplicates, try reading the thread yourself
