Ok, im tinkering with a friends computer. Whoever built it set it up with 2 80gig WD's. I think it was a RAID 0, a striped array or what not. Anyways It became broken and I deleted the array on each drive through some thing that popped up. Then it wouldn't pick the drive up in the bios, so I changed the setting to from Raid to IDE. Ok, now the bios sees it, however when I get into an XP install it loads everything on the blue screen, then asks, install, repair, ect ect. I hit fresh install and it says it cant find a workable disk.
So basically iv got 1 80 gig in his computer now, it shows in the bios(kinda) but I cant use the windows install to format, partition, and install.
It says "Setup did not find any hard drives installed on you computer" ....."This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program".
I don't know, I can see the drive when Im using a Boot CD, but the bios half ass shows it and windows installation doesn't see it.
Any tips?
