My desktop is set to go to sleep after an hour or w.e. it is of inactivity. I usually tap the keyboard or move the mouse, but nothing happens now, the power button on the moniter stays orange(green for power obviously)..i pluged the moniter into my laptop so it's obviously not the monitor's problem.. i'm scared to reboot just by pressing the power button, any other ideas?

Some computers will automatically go from Sleep mode to Hibernate mode after a preset time of no use. Do you know if your computer has this setting?
If it has gone into Hibernate mode tapping a key or moving the mouse will not bring it out of Hibernate mode, you will need to press the Power button just as you normally would to turn the computer on
Do not press and hold the Power button because this will do an emergency shutdown and you will lose all work that is not saved.
